Your £45 ticket covers the whole weekend, Friday evening to Saturday evening. That includes all your meals, plus snacks and drinks throughout, and a free place to sleep over on the Friday night if you want it (tick the box when booking, and bring a sleeping bag and a camping bed or inflatable mattress). The majority of people who attend are developers, however we welcome anyone who has a heart for helping and a desire to see technology advance the Kingdom. We often have a wide range of disciplines and experience at our events, UX/UI designers, product and project managers, and those passionate about technology. God brings the right people with the right heart and skills every year.

Teams are mixed, so you'll be working alongside people at every stage, from students to builders with decades behind them. Whatever your experience, you can learn a lot by building side by side for a weekend and seeing how other people approach a project.

Absolutely. BUILD is a UK-wide event and builders travel in from FaithTech communities right across the country. Lots of people come from outside London. You are welcome to sleep in the rooms provided (see Is overnight accommodation provided?) or use one of the nearby hotels (see Can you recommend any off-site accommodation?), and the Location page has the travel details.

You will get the most out of BUILD by being there for the whole event, hearing the pitches and joining a team from the start. However, sometimes people do need to leave early or join later.

We'll provide a list of projects a few weeks before the event, and to help you choose there will be a chance to hear from and chat to the project leads on the first day (Friday). Team sizes vary, though most are around 4-6 people, and we want to make sure all projects are covered, so we kindly ask everyone to be flexible.

Yes, use whichever tools you would like. You and your team can approach a project in whatever way you think is best.

We get the appeal, and with AI where it is, a weekend of heads-down coding is tempting. You are welcome to work solo. Worth considering that BUILD is collaborative at heart, and we'd encourage you to join a team, the best of the weekend often happens meeting, learning, helping and building alongside others. AI is very welcome (see Can I use AI or a particular tool?), and our hope is that it helps teams get further in one weekend than they could have before.

There are two awards, the people's choice, voted on by everyone who attends, and the judge's award, this year chosen by David Gardner. Each team member receives a trophy for the award or awards their team wins.

Yes. Projects can come from charities, churches, ministries, kingdom-focused businesses, and individuals with an idea. If you have something you would like to work on with a team at BUILD, the Bring a project page has all the details.

Yes, you'll be well fed and watered. All meals are provided, along with snacks and soft drinks (including tea and coffee) throughout the weekend. If your dietary requirements have changed since you filled in your registration form, please let us know as soon as possible. It would really help us if you could bring a reusable cup. One more thing: we have a number of participants with nut allergies, so if you bring extra food along, please make sure it does not contain nuts.

Yes. We have set aside two basic shared rooms (male and female) with floor space to sleep on, free of charge. Please bring a sleeping bag and a camping bed or inflatable mattress. Showers are not available.

If you would rather have a proper bed there are nearby hotels.

If you plan to sleep on site, please tick the box to say so when you buy your ticket, so we can plan capacity.

Typically around a third of people tend to work overnight, but it's completely optional, and certainly not required or essential. Teams produce really fantastic work without working through the night.

There are a range of hotels a short walk away, from budget options to high end. As it will be at night, we can offer to walk as a group to hotels at pre-agreed times. Options include Premier Inn, Travelodge, YotelPad and Snooze Box, plus other options in the area. A couple of nearby hotels also offer discount codes you can use when booking. Yes, parking is available at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Multi-Storey car park, only a few minutes' walk from Here East.

Anyone can attend. BUILD is about redemptive technology rooted in a biblical approach, and you are welcome whatever your background. Come as you are and build something that matters.

FaithTech is a global community of Christians working in and around technology, with local communities in cities around the world. Through gatherings, events and volunteer build teams, FaithTech connects faith and technology for the good of the world, redemptive tools that serve the church, reach people and care for those in need, all rooted in a biblical approach.
